Alireza Maghsoudi, MD, specializes in general, nuclear and preventative cardiology. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology as well as adult comprehensive echocardiography and cardiovascular tomography. He is also one of a small number of cardiologists who are board certified in both sleep medicine and cardiovascular disease. “Several years ago I became interested in the relationship between sleep disorders and a variety of cardiovascular conditions,” he said. “I am passionate about complicated cardiac cases and consider it a privilege to take care of patients and to serve as their advocate.”

Dr. Maghsoudi earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University and pursued his residency at Georgetown University. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Washington Hospital Center, Georgetown University Medical Center and the Washington D.C. Veterans Affairs Hospital before completing an additional year of training in advanced cardiac imaging at Harvard University Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Maghsoudi grew up in Northern Virginia and is a graduate of James Madison High School in Vienna. He enjoys traveling and hiking as well as rooting for the Virginia Cavaliers with his wife and son.
